Restaurant: Hakone
Hakone is a Japanese restaurant located in the Prince Hotel in Waikiki. I think it’s weekends only, but they have this extremely tasty Japanese buffet. There is a sushi chef who makes sushi when you order it, as well as pre-made sushi, and there are tons of other foods too. Since it’s a buffet, you can eat as much as you want, for just one fixed price. (if you have a mahalo card, you get a discount..i think) The sushi chef has all the normal sushi stuff, such as ikura (salmon roe), tamago (egg), ebi (shrimp), unagi (eel), ahi (tuna), and much much more. You can even have him make you a hand roll :O And now onto the other foods, there’s sukiyaki, oden, tempura, rice, crab, tofu, chawanmushi (steamed egg custard) and tons of other delish Japanese foods. Although Hakone is a Japanese restaurant, not all of there foods are Japanese, ex. Dessert table!! There’s this amazing bread pudding that is accompanied by this amazing vanilla sauce. It’s sooo good I have about 5 or 6 bowls of it every time I go! They have the other usual desserts, (macadamia nut pie, key lime, cheesecake) but they also have Japanese desserts, such as mochi, and azuki bean stuff. It’s so tasty and yummy, I can’t wait to go back!
