Mandarin Orange Cookies

Cookies flavored with mandarin orange extract. Strange? Weird? Maybe. But, if you like the flavor of an orange and the sweetness of cookies then these are the ones for you. Sorta like a sugar cookie but with a hint of orange. Hey?! Wait! It’s like those lime sugar cookies! I bet fresh orange juice would’ve tasted even better! Man, I really have to restock the kitchen. I’m now out of flour, brown sugar, oj! But anyways, imagine an orange flavored sugar cookie. Enjoy!

Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 egg
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 tsp. mandarin orange extract (or 2 tablespoons oj concentrate)
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 cup flour

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350˚F
2. In a bowl beat butter and sugar until creamy. Add in egg and extract.
3. Mix in baking soda and flour until combined.
4. Place rounded tablespoons of dough on a cookie sheet lines with parchment paper
5. Slightly flatten cookies and bake for 12-15 minutes

I had some extra orange flavored candies, so I crushed some of the pieces and added them to the cookies. Yea...the result was well...not that good....as you can see, the candy turned out well, kinda gross and sticky...definitely don't recommend adding them to these cookies..
