Do you ever have this great idea that when you think of it, it sounds really good, but when you actually execute it, something goes wrong? Well that's what happened here. I've always wanted to make an oreo cheesecake, but when I got in the kitchen, I'm not sure what happened! I just totally blanked and was bumbling around trying to through it together. After, I was like "Man, I should've made an oreo crust. Why didn't i think of that!" But that's okay. These were my little experiment, and although they weren't super great, they were okay. Probably one of the recipes I have to tweak!!
Oreo Cheese Cake (Draft)
For Crust:
1/2 cup butter
1 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
In a bowl, cut butter into flour and sugar until resembles course crumbs. Press into a greased 8x8 pan, and bake at 350˚F for 12 minutes or until browned. Allow to cool before pouring on filling, about 15 minutes.
For Cheesecake:
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup cream cheese
1 egg
1 1/2 cup oreo crumbs
In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar. Add in cream cheese and egg. Mix in oreo crumbs. Pour onto cooled crust. Bake for 25 minutes at 325˚F or until set.
How did it taste? Not really appealing, but maybe next time.
