Scones

I wasnt a fan of this scone recipe because they were too dry and crumbly. Im not really a fan of scones in general, but these ones just didn't taste very good, and we had even added in chocolate chips, and other add-ins. :(

Betty Crocker scones
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons sugar
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup firm butter or margarine
1 large egg, beaten
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
4 to 6 tablespoons whipping (heavy) cream
additional whipping cream
white coarse sugar crystals or granulated sugar

1. heat oven to 400˚f
2. In a large bowl, mix flour, 3 tablespoons sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in butter, until mixture looks like fine crumbs. Stir in egg, vanilla and just enough of whipping cream so dough leaves the side of bowl.
3. place dough on lightly floured surface and gently roll in flour to coat. knead lightly 10 times. roll or pat dough into an 8-inch circle on un-greased cookie sheet. Cut into 8 wedges without separating them. Brush with additional cream and sprinkle with sugar.
4. bake 14-16 minutes or until light gold brown. Immediately remove from cookies sheets.
